What is a hadith?
In the Islamic context, a hadith is a recorded narration of an action, statement, or tacit approval of the Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu `alayhi wa sallam). The Qur’aan and collections of authentic hadith form the most fundamental, and only, sources of Islamic legislation.
